[HAND-COLORED AQUATINT]. [HEATH, William (1795-1840), artist]. Anecdote at the Battle of Trafalgar. London: Edward Orme, 1817. Rare hand-colored aquatint, an image of the highly fictionalized story of British sailors rescuing a French maiden (“Jeannette”) from the ocean during the Battle of Trafalgar, after the explosion of the French ship, Achille. Engraved by M. Dubourg (1786-1838). Sight approximately 9 ½ x 11 ¾”. Matted and framed under glass in elaborate gilt wooden frame. Frame size approximately 17 ¼ x 19 ½”. Print lightly toned, minor occasional soiling. Fine. Not examined out of frame.
