A Victorian silver snuff box by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1858, of shaped rectangular form, cover, sides and base chased with intricate scrolled foliate decoration, framing a cartouche with the inscription "Presented by the Nottingham Police Force to Mr S Tomkinson, as a token of Gratitude for his voluntary services Sept 5th 1859", with scrolled thumbpiece open to reveal gilt interior, 7.5 x 4.6 cm, 2.70 ozt.
